Carded at Ballys
I thought I'd post about a strange thing which happened to me in Vegas last week. I asked if there was a vacant seat in the 4-8 game at Ballys and the card attendant wanted photo ID before I sat down to play, claiming it was 'Nevada State law that you needed to be over 21 and have photo Id to gamble in a casino.'
The fact I'm 32 makes this even more puzzling (unfortunately, I don't look incredibly young for my age). I've played in loads of casinos and have never had any trouble before. Anyway, the story ended happily because I went to the Aladdin instead and raked in a huge pot in the $200 no limit game. Anybody else had similar problems? |

Re: Carded at Ballys
Yeah, I had a similar thing happen to me back in 1999 at Lake Tahoe. I had been gambling around the lake for an entire week, and on about the second-to-last day, my friend and I get carded as we are walking through Caesar's...not even playing.
It was strange, but not that strange...since both of us were 19 at the time. |

I went to the Aladdin instead [/ QUOTE ]Wait, I don't understand. You didn't have ID? You were insulted? Sounds like you were about to sit down in your 32-year-old seat, but then you left? -Sam |

Re: Carded at Ballys
Yes, it is required by law to carry VALID photo ID with you at all times in a casino. I watched someone get 86'd from the property just because their id was not valid (expired).

Re: Carded at Ballys
question: if security asks for your ID and you decline, what can the consequences be ( in nevada specifically)?
