Default 33s: Too aggressive with mid pairs 4 and 5 handed?

They are almost similar to EricW's hands in the 22s, but these are on the bubble

No reads.
First hand:

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t150 (4 handed) converter

Hero (t2570)
BB (t983)
UTG (t1880)
Button (t2567)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].

UTG raises to T450, button folds - I push

If I would have the opportunity to replay the hand, I think a stop and go could be a better line here?

Second hand:
Villain has been raising two pots in like 6 hands, and he has recently doubled up with tens.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (5 handed) converter

BB (t2725)
UTG (t1315)
Hero (t1155)
Button (t770)
SB (t2035)

Preflop: Hero is MP with 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
UTG raises to t200 - I push (I hate calling here, so push/fold is my options). Is the push fine given my read, or should I just muck it?

First one - you are closing the action and have a lot of FE, this is a good push (well ok - BB is still to act - but he is going to have to have a monster to call, and won't without JJ+ and maybe AK)

Second one - you are not closing the action, have less FE, and UTG is raising into a full field therefore his hand is likely to be stronger - this is not a good push

First hand, is pushing really a great play? I dont think so. You are practically guaranteed to make the $ if you play carefully and you should avoid coinflips on the bubble right? I must not be reading carefully, I have to be overlooking something given the responses.

Actually not close. He was just a donkey raising with A9s, and he called the push. Next time I'll just throw the eights away.

The next time I'll probably just see a flop, but given the responses my push wasnt that wrong

When you are this aggressive on the bubble you can expect a lot of wins and a lot of 4ths. You'll have to learn to make peace with that.
