Default How would you play this QQ

1/2 live 200 max

Here are the relevant stacks: (approximate)

hero: $180
villian: $220

villian is a rock.

I am LP with Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

villian is UTG makes it $10, folds to me I make it $40, folds to villian who calls, folds back.

Flop $83

10 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

check, check

turn 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

villian bets $50, hero folds. villian says "queens, right?"

The only thing I can think of is betting the flop but there is no doubt in my mind that he has AK/KK or AQs/AJ possibly JJ. Obviously I played this like QQ but is there a better line or is this standard?

Looks fine. If he's a rock, it might be better if you call preflop and try to stack him (will he go to the felt with AA-KK overpair?).

Do you also raise AA/KK to $40 here?

It depends, you are saying this is too much? I made it $40 to discourage CO and the button from coming in, bad thinking?

Raising to $30 will achieve the same result here.

There could be merit for a continuation bet on the flop of about 1/2 pot (looks like a big hand) depending on Villains raising standards and calling reraises(would he call your reraise with AJ or AQ). The 1/2 pot CB only needs to be successful more than 1 in 3 to be a profitable play. Your line is probably fine though...

I think you've got to use your position to make a c-bet here. If you just check/behind you are showing too much weakness. Is it possible he has TT or JJ here? I'm not giving up this easily here, raising to $40 in LP indicates you have a hand.

You have weakness with a minor draw. This scenario screams continuation bet. 60 bucks will get teh info you need.
