\"Guaranteed\" tourneys-----newbie questions
I see buy-in for a "$2000 guaranteed" multi-table tourney on Empire is $10 + $1.
There are only 50 people registered 30 min prior to its start. So the prize pool is $2000 "guaranteed", even though player fees only total $500 (50 * $10)? Does the standard tourney payoff table still apply? Thanks for any help. |

Re: \"Guaranteed\" tourneys-----newbie questions
when the # of buyins doesnt = the guaranteed prizepool there becomes an overlay.. so your $20 buyin might be worth like $30 or something.
Empire has a lot of these, but make sure it's not a rebuy, a bunch of them are. Bodog has the biggest overlays. |

Re: \"Guaranteed\" tourneys-----newbie questions
This is called overlay, its a sacred thing you shouldnt discuss.
if the tournament starts with only 50 people the payouts will be structured as if 200 people signed up. |

Re: \"Guaranteed\" tourneys-----newbie questions
The prize pool will be 2000, so they will overlay 1500 bucks if it somehow stays at 50 people, which is great. However, it is still 30 minutes before start, I'm sure many more people will be registered before it starts. The prize pool will go off of the 2000$ unless there is more than 2000$ worth of entrants obviously, the 2000 is the minimum "guaranteed". Top 10% will be paid as normal.
