Re: Did i overplay this set?
I honestly don't know if you see an underset/Kx-two-pair often enough to make this worth a push. You probably do. Me? I'm just calling this from now on cos I have seen so many A4s in this spot lately I'm ready to open a damn bike shop.

Re: Did i overplay this set?
don't raise PF, play this for set value until you get more comfortable playing big pairs OOP.
lead the flop, shutdown if called. |

Re: Did i overplay this set?
Don't bet preflop. Because you are early position on flop, check. If I was late position and checks all around, I'd bet.

Re: Did i overplay this set?
Also, let's ponder this for a sec. That last reraise by villain smells of a slow-played hand. He may just be stupid, but more likely some sort of slow play. Why? Because the 9h could not have helped him. It did not complete a flush or straight draw.
So, what could he be slowplaying here? KK is a possibility (but unlikely because of the preflop limp). Also the wheel straight is a possibility. Both hands have you beat. He may also have an AK, but his betting wouldn't make much sense for that hand for the same reason as the KK (preflop limp). Because it seems he's slowplaying the flopped wheel, you gotta check. |

[/ QUOTE ] I raise almost all pairs from any position in 6max, but that may be a matter of style. It makes me look like a maniac to show down 22 after cbetting the flop. edit: However, in the SB, playing for set value is probably standard here. utg I believe raising is standard for 66+. |

Re: Did i overplay this set?
I'd play this the exact same way.
I'd be appalled to see a set of Kings. I'm guessing you were beaten by a wheel straight, and if so bravo to villain for getting the luckiest river ever for him. |

Re: Did i overplay this set?
If villian has a wheel it was given to him for free on the turn.
If you read him as reasonable I don't mind just calling the river bet - with such a multiway limped pot Axs type hands are certainly possible. |

Re: Did i overplay this set?
Easy 3-bet on the river. I would blast this preflop and try get it heads up. I make it $2-3 preflop.
