Trips against a semi-maniac...
Villain is semi-maniac, no way to really gauge whether his preflop raise from early position is legitimate or just gambling it up...
Why was I in the hand in the first place? I had just taken my seat, I had a late position post, and I felt like my cards would fare well if they hit the board. I had about 50 hands worth of data on the villain... I was getting cute on the turn just smooth-calling. I think if I were to play it today I woulda raised the turn. Comments? Re: Trips against a semi-maniac...
I'd probably cap the river against a semi-maniac. I think your smooth-call on the turn threw him off and he's overplaying an overpair. You can cap slightly lighter than you would 3-bet because you don't need to worry about a raise coming back to you.
