Default HELP: What do I need to run 2 monitors???

I just bought a Dell desktop, and am going to buy a 2001FP as a 2nd monitor. What do I need to get both montors to work? My comp has a video card in it, if that matters. I'm a computer retard, by the way.

Thanks,
PBob

To run two monitors you need a video card that supports multiple monitors or two video cards. If you're looking for specific cards that you should look into, i can't really help you out there. Also i don't know if the monitors you have are DVI or not, if they are you'll probably want to get a video card with DVI. If your video card is built onto the motherboard i'd suggest just getting a cheap second video card. (Once you have two video cards or a dual head video card it's all easily configurable in windows xp)

Get a card that supports dual-DVI. You'll be much happier with the results. Go to www.newegg.com and do an advanced search for cards with 2 DVI outputs.

This is the video card in my computer.

128MB PCI Express™ x16 (DVI/VGA/TV-out) ATI Radeon™ X300 SE

Any idea if this will do it?

Thanks,
PBob

As long as your video card has 1 white + 1 blue or 2 white sockets you can hook up two monitors.
