The pots odds are really good. Do you have a read on the villain? If he's any good, he's pushing w/any 2 cards. I find it hard to believe you're bigger than a 2-1 dog in this hand.

I probably call

The pot is 6409 chips...you have to call 2659 more. Your stack can take a small hit.

You are getting 2.41:1 on your call...

Even if he has AK here you are only a 1.9:1 dog.

I call.

My thinking exactly. I push (to get his last dollar) and he show's AK.

I river the straight and proceed to get lots of flack from the table.

Figured this was a good call, even though I am dead to a PP as I have plenty of chips to support losing the 2.5k if I'm wrong in my read. Thinking I had some of Giga's over stack which wasn't doing much but sitting there ready to get in. Though, I think this case is +EV, though marginally.

Thanks

Pete

Huh? What was the buy in here?

Nothing at all wrong with this play.

33.. Lot of non +EV play throughout.. Figured it best to shut up and not explain the call, but did mention I had more than 2:1 and the call was close to automatic.

Trying not to educate folks and kill edge. Need likely just to turn chat off.

Yes, insta-call with your stack and the odds. Ignore the haters.
