i like the call for several reasons.
1) There are players behind me to act, who could easily raise with (1) a straight, (2) a boat, or (3) some sort of pair and flush draw hand. All of these will most likely call. 2) People give a lot of credit for raises in these smaller buyin tournies. The better is more likely to fold to my raise than call off on the turn and river. Instead, it is more likely that he will bet out the river with his medium strength holding, at which point, i can raise him for value. 3) I am willing to let quad T's or a straight flush beat me if it hits. These PLO tourneys go so fast (ie 1/3 field left after one hour) that you need to get the most value out of the strongest hands you are dealt. |
