What Would You Do?
This situation came up today. First fiver players fold and then the small blind says I only have one card. Big blind is in the process of looking at his cards and sees that he now has three. The blinds say it's a misdeal, but two of the players who have folded say no, their hands are dead. The floorman is called over and confirms that their hands are dead.
I am on the button. After it's determined that their hands are indeed dead, cut-off calls. What would you do? |

Re: What Would You Do?
The funny thing is that many openlimpers will have a lot of hand in this spot.

Re: What Would You Do?
I don't think I've ever open-limped from the cutoff in my life. I may try it once, just for fun.
Anyway, to the problem... does it not matter what our cards are? I assume this means Andy chose option D. |

Yes, I was getting a little off-topic with my comment, must be the late hour causing me to pontificate . Indeed, in this unique situation, a limp is as good as a raise.

Re: What Would You Do?
Anything but asking the CO to take his money back and let the blinds chop is definitely wrong and I don't think it's particularly close.

Anything but asking the CO to take his money back and let the blinds chop is definitely wrong and I don't think it's particularly close. [/ QUOTE ] I would have said the exact opposite. The floor has made his ruling. You have no business pressuring Cutoff to accept your version of right and wrong in place of the floor ruling. Also consider the unfairness of your suggestion. Cutoff paid his blinds a few hands ago. That entitles him to play the rest of the orbit for free. That means he gets to sit in the favorable cutoff seat and receive two cards. You want to take that away from him. Chop means the button moves and he isn't cutoff anymore. Why should someone who has done absolutely nothing wrong suffer an EV loss because the blinds didn't protect their hands properly? The guilty get a windfall of not paying blinds while the innocent Cutoff loses money? That's fair? OP should peek at his cards and play them. |

[/ QUOTE ] I feel this way in order to help promote a less cut throat and more enjoyable environment for a poker game. Obviously the CO can tell me to go fvck myself if he or she so chooses. |
