Default 2000 nl.....(99)....I feel like a pansy?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $20 BB (6 handed) converter

BB ($2111.50)
UTG ($1990)
MP ($382)
CO ($2624)
Button ($1632)
Hero ($2975)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG raises to $80, 2 folds, Button calls $80, Hero calls $70, 1 fold.

Flop: ($260) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $220, Button folds, Hero folds.

Final Pot: $480

should I be checkraising this, leading and folding to a raise or what? Unknowns in hand.

I think that's a standard fold against an unknown UTG raiser. Leading may have been better, but who's to say he won't raise with AK? I think the fold is fine.

Id check raise this to see how much UTG likes his hand, make it like 600.
If you lead, hell probably raise on that board and put u on the defensive.
If you CR that flop, he calls and u lead turn..hes most likely mucking his overpair.

Hand values go way up in 6-handed hold 'em, don't forget. UTG could easily be making a continuation bet on two big cards on such an innocuous flop. I prefer to lead out $200 and claim the pot. Do your own betting, as I don't feel comfortable risking letting a free card peel for two opponents. I'd consider a check-raise if you were heads up.

Put it this way,

You're under the gun with AcKc you raise. two calls, this flop. What do you do?

I hope you awnser is...you bet, Because I know I would. Check-raise here is key, i checkraise to 650 to tap him something, let him know that I like my hand and see what he does. Chances are you're taking the pot down.

i hate leading out on this board, i much prefer a check raise.

leading out SCREAMS medium pocket pair on this, the most innocuous of all flops, ever. AK might reraise you, knowing exactly what's going on, that a medium pocket pair is testing the waters against the preflop raiser. if i had AK and someone led, i'd raise. if they had a 2 they'd get 600 from me on a bluff but chances are i'm taking the pot when i raise... therefore this board sucks for 99 but it's 6 max. i'd check raise and slow down to a screeching halt if called.

I'd c/r to 600. If he calls, then you have to re-evaluate on the turn. He probably has an overpair after the call. I would either push or check/fold this turn. Probably, check/fold after being called on the flop.

I like leading if Villain will lay down overcards to a bet in position. If he'll call the flop hoping to hit his missed AK, checkraising is a lot better. I would rarely check/fold this.

We're not all like you, and I feel that most will lay down their two big cards (not necessarily AK, but KQ or KJ as well) with two opponents. Of course I'm willing to lead if I actually had the 2 or a 66 full house as well.

Granted I haven't played the 10/20 blind games, so I'm not completely familiar with their aggression and who is capable of what.

I agree 100%, when an opponents lead into me, assuming they aren't rocks, I normally smooth call and take the pot away on the turn...
