Blind steal attempt runs into trouble

This table is pretty tight. How was this played?

Absolute Poker 1/2 Hold'em (9 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is Button with J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
6 folds, Hero raises, 1 fold, BB calls.

Flop: (4.50 SB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB bets, Hero raises, BB calls.

Turn: (4.25 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, BB raises, Hero...?

Do I call down from here since I actually have a hand, or do I let this go? (I quickly dismissed checking through, but is this an option too?)

1. Checking the turn through is not an option. Why give a free card?

2. I would just call down from here. BB's flop bet doesn't necessarily mean anything since this is a steal situation, but his decision to check-raise you on the turn means he has a piece of this board. You have a good-but-not-great hand under the circumstances, so just show it down.

It's late and I haven't been paying as much attention as I should. The only read I have is that the table is very tight. Only 3 players seeing the flop most times and a lot of people just folding on the flop. If a few people caught decent hands, they'd have no problem betting it up though.

Checking through didn't seem good to me when I was playing this. After reviewing the hand it still didn't seem good, but I wanted to be sure.

Ditto. Sounds like these guys are playing tight-aggressive. That's roughly optimum play. You gotta know how to play a hand like this just to break even in a game like this.

As for advice on this hand: waves white flag I guess I call it down, just to see WTF is going on. lmao.

Yeah, just call it down. If he went ahead and defended with something like J4o or T4o, more power to the guy. There's no way you should have checked it through. If you thought you had the best hand on the flop, that 4 shouldn't change things until proven otherwise.

1) There's no straightforward opponent read here
2) It's heads up, which means villain is more likely to try to make a play
3) Villain is playing against a button raise, not an UTG raise, so Hero's strong hand credibility is much smaller
4) It's TOP FREAKIN' PAIR in a HEADS UP situation! You need something very solid to stand on before laying this one down. Laying this down is like this laydown. Both are terrible.
