Default My buddy\'s good fortune.

My poker buddy Gardner Rob leaves a voice mail on my cell while I'm at work this morning. He says he's at the Bike, and he hit the bad beat jackpot on his second hand at the 4/8 for $8,500. I called back later for the details.

In MP3, dealt KK, raises, called by BB and button.

Some random EP limp/callers probably fold on the flop.

Flop is Axx. BB bets, Rob calls, button calls.

Turn is A. BB bets, Rob raises, button folds, BB calls.

River is A. BB checks, Rob bets, BB raises, Rob calls.

BB turned over AT for the winner. Button said he folded TT. (Rob would have had to chop all that money).

Now, I'm on a rather nasty downswing, so I wonder if . . .

Aces full of tens gets it too? Wow, sounds like an easy jackpot, the one at most of the poker rooms in CO up in Blackhawk is AAAJJ or better, and it would have been void on that board because there were three aces on the board.

Aces full of tens is pretty standard - but most places I've been say that 1) both hole cards have to play and 2) if you have aces full of tens, then one of the aces must be in your hand - meaning the KK would not qualify.

Still - nice hand.
