giving people too much credit
at the casino i play 3/6
i have no problem laying down pretty good hands, depending on the board. when i have TPTK (for example), and facing many opponents i'm capable of laying it down. there are lots of examples but basically i feel like i'm giving my opponents at 3/6 too much credit. they could be chasing all sorts of differet draws or already have the goods. generally i give bettors too much credit and i don't think, "they must be bluffing" as an excuse to call an extra bet or chase with a marginal hand. i've found it pretty hard to read people at these stakes. not all fish wear their tells on their sleeves like some would suggest. maybe i'm just missing the subtle things. any advice? any insights about this? |

Re: giving people too much credit
Dont fold in big pots for one bet even if assuming your opponent plays semi-logically there is no way you can win. You'd be surprised.

Re: giving people too much credit
I base it on math, "How often will my hand be good in this situation?" After that difficult determination it's a simple pot odds decision.

Re: giving people too much credit
Plenty of people at low limits will check-raise/reraise with top pair-shitty kicker and bet it to the River like they flopped a Royal Flush.
I go into call-down mode and win a good portion of these. Somtimes the guy betting into me has total crap and was bluffing the whole way. |
