How Stupid am I?
First ever B&M tournament yesterday. About an hour into the action, blinds are 200/400; I have ~T 4500 in late position. 3 limpers, and I look down and see AQo. For whatever stupid reason, I limped along with the rest rather than raising.
The flop comes A K 8 rainbow. A guy in front of me bets T 1000, I call, everyone else folds. Turn is a blank. Guy bets 2,000. After some thought, I put him on an Ace with a weaker kicker, or a set of eights. I figured the first scenario was more likely since there was no raise preflop (I figured someone with a medium pocket pair would raise to thin the field). I raise all-in, he thinks for about 2 seconds and calls. Right then, I know I'm screwed. I say, "Guess you have Ace-Eight suited," and that's exactly what he turns over, and I'm out just like that. The minute the hand was over, I felt like such a moron. I never should have been in a multiway unraised pot with AQo. Raising was the only option here, but I was so overwhelmed by the live experience that I played like a weak-tight moron. Everyone agrees that I played this hand horribly, right? Would anyone have put him on two pair? Can I lay down AQ in this situation? |

Re: How Stupid am I?
You can always laydown a hand, it seems like you had a nice chips stack still.
Yeah, I think you should have raised pre-flop. |
