Default Recordkeeping

what records do you keep at B&M cardrooms?

total $won or lost?
total chips (in $) bought?
hours played?

do you keep any records at the table? What do you write down between hands?

thanks!

I track hours and net win/loss, as well as the game, limit, and location. I usually punch in the net win/loss into my cell phone and enter all the data into Excel when I get home.

No notes at the table for me -- I figure that I look like a big enough tool already without having to add that in.

Try Statking from ConJelCo (the host of the 2+2 forums). Its essentially the standard. here is a LINK

There is a script that was made and shared in the Books forum that alows Poker Tracker data to be imported into Statking as well, to have "one stop shopping" so to speak.

I enter all my results into pokercharts.com. It's free, and they have lots of charts, etc. They also track tourneys as well as ring games.

I don't write down anything at the table, although I might start, when a hand comes up that I'm not sure I played correctly, so I can post on here...

Date.

Time played.

Win/loss in money and Big bets.

Casino I played at.

Limit and type of game played.

Never take notes at table. It makes you look to serious and it will engender feelings of loathing and contempt.

I was under the impression that you weren't allowed to take notes at the table...

I always thought that until I met Mike Gallow... he has proven me wrong. Nobody cares that he writes down every hand into a little notebook, and takes notes on every player at the table. Literally... NOBODY cares. I want to be more like Mike, he must cast a vodoo spell on the table every time he sits down because I don't think I could get away with it. I'll never forget the day he added me to his book, I just shrugged it off as slightly different, but watching him do that didn't make me think about him differently.
