Default staking a friend

This could be the wrong forum, but...My friend and I are going to the casino tomorrow. Long story short, I agreed to stake him at 2/4. He's a beginner, but definitely has a positive expectation in that game. Without the rake he'd have a huge edge. My question is how do these deals normally work? If he wins, how much should I get back from him? If he loses what happens? We're good friends, so I just want what's fair for both of us. Thanks.

BTW, I tried the search function, as I do before I post anything, and I'm becoming convinced that it's only there as a joke. If there is a thread on this and someone can find it, I'd appreciate a link (or the secret search handshake).

Only stake a friend if he is a vampire.

First off if you are good friends DON'T STAKE HIM. When money gets involved there is great potential for friendships to turn sour.

If you still want to stake him the "standard" arrangement (if there is such a thing) is you put up the money and get half of the profit. If he loses it is on you.

That's exactly what I was going to do- I must have read that somewhere. Also, I think that's good advice about not staking friends in general, but I can assure you that with this guy and this amount of money it's not an issue. Thanks.
