Online poker sucks because there are no tells.
What fun is poker if it is mostly math and betting strategies. I hated math in High School. I'm good at people. How about you?

[/ QUOTE ] I don't think many people actually perform a lot of math when they're playing. However, winning at poker is fundamentally a math problem, both online and live. It just so happens that in live games, you have other variables you can factor into your calculations (such as tells). I believe an understanding of the underlying principles is necessary to become a good player. |

A - live poker involves more math than you realize
B- online poker involves more hand reading than you realize. |

Re: Online poker sucks because there are no tells.
the only way you could be afraid of online poker is if you not only hated math in highschool but in elementry school as well. The only math is pot odds which is just fractions
And in low stakes limit it's usually not even a contest as to whether you should stay in or not since 3-5 other guys just called the same raise as you did plus in live you still need to know the strategy of the game anyway, you can't just be ridiculous with your actions and then make up for it by being "good at people". |

Re: Online poker sucks because there are no tells.
I'm good at math and bad at people. I love online poker. I don't get any information through the "tells" channel, but I don't give away any either, so I think it pretty much evens out.
