77 BB hand
Second post ever so bear with me...
FR game at Pacific Poker hero is in BB with 7h7s UTG is 31/0/1.9 after 40+ hands MP2 is 33/2/.90 after 50 hands CO is 18/8/2.75 after 260 hands UTG calls, MP2 calls, CO raises, hero calls, UTG calls, MP2 calls FLOP: (8.5 SB) Jd 5s 3c UTG checks, MP2 checks, CO bets, hero .... okay, so this is fairly straight forward, but this situation comes often and I am never confident in my play here... Any thoughts welcome... |

Re: 77 BB hand
raise and fold to a 3-bet is my thought. i figure he won't 3-bet without a pair that beats 77 even if it isn't a Jack.
if called by others than CO, i'd probably check/fold the turn UI. |

Re: 77 BB hand
I like a raise. CO sometimes bets with overcards here. You want to fold out any overcards from UTG and MP2. You have some fold equity on TT-88.

Re: 77 BB hand
This is a cool situation. I like to think of it as an "implicit collusion cold-call."
The idea is this: you cold-call behind an aggressive player who raises behind a few limpers. Your plan is to raise his bet on any flop that is not too threatening. You are in the absolute perfect position to protect your hand, and so you basically getting a pot which has the number of bets in a multiway pot but which will very often end up being immediately heads-up. I had a couple of similar hands over the weekend in the 15/30 game at the Wynn. I got a perfect seat against an overly aggressive pre-flop player who invariably followed through on the flop with continuation bets. I was so confident in the situation I would call his raises with hands as bad as 44 if there were 1 or more limpers in front of him and I was in late position, because I knew that he would miss a majority of flops and I would be able to isolate him immediately on the flop. This worked a couple of times to take down nice pots. This is an interesting addition to the discussion that started yesterday around Joe Tall's 88 hand. One of the best reasons to cold-call with pairs in many situations is to have the ability to raise 1 or 0-overcard flops to protect your hand. |

Re: 77 BB hand
How would you continue the turn if the flop had contained a flush draw possibility?

Lets say hero, one of the MP (Loose Pass.), and the CO [/ QUOTE ] So to recap: we raised the flop and the MP and CO called. The turn gets checked to us. Assuming this, I bet the turn and check behind on river (assuming I don't get bet into on the riv or raised on the turn). |

Re: 77 BB hand
Correct, except that hero is in BB, and thus first to act on the turn.
