pair hits set on monotone flop
pacific poker, $10NL, .05/10 blinds
It is 1AM eastern time, table is pretty loose Hero has about $11 Villain has about $15 Hero is in LP with 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 limpers Hero raises to $.60 2 callers Flop ($2 ish) comes: 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] MP1 checks MP2 checks Hero ??? At this table, I felt that anyone with a single high spade would call just about any bet, given the late hour and low limits. What is standard here? Push or just a big bet? |

RESULTS
Hero pushed
Villain called with J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Of course, he catches his spade on the river. |

Re: RESULTS
already fixed the post
Basically, he had the flush draw and a 3-straight. Main question is... push the flop or just bet big and see what happens on the turn? |

Re: pair hits set on monotone flop
If they are really calling with whatever lone spade, I don't see how pushing could be bad.

Re: pair hits set on monotone flop
i've run into this situation a LOT at $10NL at later hours. Of course, in the past, they usually don't hit.
What do you do with bigger stacks and normal hours? ($25NL, average stacks) |

Re: pair hits set on monotone flop
Easy push if you know they'll call with a lone spade

Re: RESULTS
vegas- are you pushing in most of these situations, or only at the given limit?

Re: RESULTS
Your push here is good because you "know" the donks are calling with whatever lone spade. Standard play for without a read like that is just potting it here.
