Default First 101 20+2\'s

ROI 35.9%
ITM 42.6%

$/Tourney $7.90
SD/tourney $38.45

Finish Number
1st 17
2nd 14
3rd 12
4th 14
5th 13
6th 14
7th 8
8th 4
9th 0
10th 5

Well there you have it. I started off the 101 with an incredible hot streak with a 75%ROI after 30 tourneys...then I went on a horrible downswing once I went back to school. I went 1/16 in the money with a 2nd in the middle of the slide.

Then I slowly inched my way back up to my peak at tourney number 70 or so. Went on a hot streak and topped out with a 45%ROI after 85 tourneys or so. Went on a 6 tourney OOTM streak then finished off the 101 with 3 2nds in 5 tourneys.

It was definaetely an up and down couple of weeks as I really learned how to multitable at about the 60th tourney on whereby I've been playing two tables since.

I will be moving up to the 30's and will play around 10 tourneys one tabling then I will add a second. I plan to stay at the 30 level for the next month or so. If things go well I should be multitabling the $50's by christmas break.

Thanks for all the material on the forums particularly Strassa, Eastbay, Lori, ZeeJustin and all the other regulars I've forgotten to include. Although my ROI for the 101 period is 35%, I think my game right now is +40% for the $20+2 level thanks in no small part to the advice given to me on these forums.

Thanks,

-SmileyEH

Congrats! What's your number at 10+1? I play mostly 10+1 and my ROI and ITM over about 200 games is similar to your number at 20+2. My limited trips to 20+2 earlier give me something like 20% ROI after a down swing and I decide to move down and I wonder if I should move up again.

I had something like 18% ROI at the $10+1's. I wasn't concentrating because of the small amounts of money so I took a shot at the 20's with a 9 buy in bankroll and it worked out.

I found there is almost no difference between the general quality of play between the 20's and 10's. Players however are much more aggressive on the bubble in the 20's so small adjustments need to be made.

Over how many 10's for the 18%?

i can attest for the little amount of skill change between the 10s and the 20s.

it's basically the same game.

I have also found no big difference in quality of play between the 10's, 20's and 30's. All the other caveats about moving up aside, I would not expect that you would find a large difference in play if you moved up.

About 60 tournaments or so, but really the 18% ROI means nothing because I was effectively on tilt for about half of them.
