[/ QUOTE ] Firstly, nobody plays perfectly, so get that out of your head now. 4 hours of play is nothing, espcially at a casino. What is that, 200 hands?? You can start talking about results when you've played thousands. |

Re: 5/10 Holdem
BB stands for big bet, which in a 5/10 game would be 10 dollars an hour. Although this is standard, a perfect player will usually make more...

Re: 5/10 Holdem

That depends a bit on the limit I think. I Poker Essays 1, Masons has a table which illustrates how much players of different skills can expect to make per hour in various limits. For the $4-$8 limit an ok player can expect to make $5/h, a good player $10/h and a great player $14/h. I don't know how much that has changed since the book essay was written, but the point is still the same. I believe that someone who play PERFECT at the 5/10 limit should be able to make at least $15 / hour. But, what do I know. I'm a newbie, a newbie that never sat his foot in a casino. It's maybe 120 hands at the lower limits were play tends to be slower. As to how much you can make, who knows? You'll have to log a bunch of time before anything can be estimated. Also note that the rake at these limts in B&M play is quite high. In So-Cal it's as much as the BB and part of the SB leaving the table and this eats heavily into your potential. (of course I'd play Commerce every day if I could) The reasonable figure for a good player is about 1BB/hour and while some will tell you much more "can" be made don't get your hopes up. |

Re: 5/10 Holdem
The rake can be a killer in the low limit games, but its usually compensated by horrible play by other players. All this talk about not being able to beat a 2/4 or 4/8 game for 1BB/HR is silly IMO as the players are too terrible not to be able to over come the rake. However, if you're constantly finding yourself in terribly tight games with good players, the rake will eat you alive, which of corse means you need to find another table.
