Dell 2001 FP with laptop
Just got my Dell 2001FP.
Plugged it in turned it on. Nothing happens. When I boot up my machine, I get Windows launch screens on the laptop monitor and the 2001fp. But after that, nothing but a weird flicker if I move my mouse to the new monitor. What settings do I need to check in the Display screen? Do I need new drivers or another video card? I have a basic HP laptop, about a year old, if that helps. |

Re: Dell 2001 FP with laptop
Control Panel => Appearance and Themes => Display => Settings
Click on monitor 2 => Set to 1600x1200 Resolution => Click "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor" => OK It might be slightly different if you don't have XP, but this is how I set mine up - works great. I use a laptop with a Samsung 213. PEACE |

But if I selcect 1600x1200, the monitor goes crazy. It looks like a scrambled tv channel. No clue what's going on. Help would be much appreciated, since Dell is of no help. |

Re: Dell 2001 FP with laptop
your video card may not be able to support 1600x1200 on the 2nd screen.
What is the resolution on your laptop? |
