BB and UTG raises
If UTG is a typical 5/10 short player and raises, all fold to you in the BB. What range of hands are you at least calling here? If you expand or condense a group please mention to what degree.
a/ ATs+ b/ 22+ c/ KJs d/ QTs e/ J9s f/ AJo g/ KJo h/ QTo I/ J9o J/ Anyother randon stuff like suited connectors and 1-gappers. (please mention which) |

Re: BB and UTG raises
I fold em all. Except if im carddead, i can make a loose call with ATs or AJo, but thats just being human i guess.
what does the '+' mean? EDIT: ps- by typical i take you mean ABC-player. |

Re: BB and UTG raises
They are suppose to be the lowest hand of the type, some of the groups i forgot to meantion are that hand and above. For example ATs+ means AKs, AQs, AJs and ATs.

am i too weak tight?
hrmm... i must be a tight ass in these situations.
unless i have a very strong read, i generally assume an UTG raise means a very good hand. the typical calling station wont open-raise with anything other than a monster like AQo+ AJs+ KQs+ or JJ+. the typical 2+2 guy won't open UTG with anything less than A9o+ KJo+ A8s+ KTs+ or 55+. if my UTG opponent is unknown, i have to assume an average range which for him somewhere inbetween like AJo+, KQo+, ATs+, KJs+, 88+. i don't see much point in playing likely dominated hands out of position. i'd rather just stick to hands i can 3-bet him with, which need to be as good or better than his typical hand. i 3-bet AJo+, KQo+, ATs+, KJs+, 88+ and fold everything else. |
