Problems with betting/gambling
Hey guys i'm new to the forums and i was recommended that this place is the place provides a lot of information. first off i just wanna talk about my first problem....
when i come to a casino or play online poker, i always start on a low bankroll ($5 to penny tables, $25 max buy-in for .5/1.00 nl beginners table). but my problem is when i bet, someone raises me, and i know i have a decent hand to play with, i tend to fold and get bluffed at almot 70% of the time. i guess it's because i'm gullible, but i need advice on how to play effectively and efficiently. thanks twoplustwo guys |

Re: Problems with betting/gambling
My advice would be to go back to specific hands and post them in the micro limit or small stakes forum for advice. The online poker rooms all have hand histories, they are either on your hard drive or they can e-mail them to you. Go back and find a hand where you experienced this kind of situation and post it there. You can use the converter also to make it better to read. Good luck.

Re: Problems with betting/gambling
I don't suggest you become a calling station, but it sounds like people at the table know they can bluff you out. If you CAN afford it, just once, call it all the way down, if you THINK YOU MAY HAVE A CHANCE OF WINNING. This will do two things:
1) You may not get bluffed into as much 2) You will find out how much info your tablemates have on you. Like I said, the worst thing is to become an automatic calling station, but over time, you will learn to feel the texture of the board, the bets, etc. and you can make a more educated "guess" as to if you are being bluffed at. |

Re: Problems with betting/gambling
About gambling. No matter what game you play for money - you cannot play with a short bankroll/fear of losing. Be honest with yourself before you get any deeper into poker.
Maybe some time at the play money tables will help you while you are learning the game. |
