1st foray into Limit MTT (from a NL player) - Early Hand $50+5
74 entrants
Starting Limit - 1,000 50/100 Hero is dealt QQs (just kidding about the s part) Hero BB (T750) Villain SB (T800) folded to UTG+2 who calls BB CO (T1,700) - calls as well Villain calls Hero Raises 100 to make it 200 All Fold to SB who raises Hero raises again SB calls Flop - Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Villain Cks Hero Raises Villain reraises This continues until Hero is All-in. Turn comes 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] River is 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] I am going to go ahead and post results on this hand simply because the question doesn't really pertain to any strategy of the hand as such, because it is close to automatic for both players, once the flop ensues. Villain holds 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I just basically went in to autclick until I was all-in, Villains was clicking just as fast as I was. I wasn't planning on folding, but I had villain on a small boat or maybe a hidden set. Should I have stopped and thought through villains possible hands more thouroughly at some point or was it pointless, considering that I had no intention of folding rightly or wrongly? |

First, no, keep raising until you are all in. you cannot be behind here, so you really want to get all your chips in.
looks like my luck that he hit a 1 outer on you. but what site allows unlimited reraises in a LIMIT event? -Scott |

[/ QUOTE ] Given that you have the absolute freaking nuts on the flop and villain is betting and raising into you, then NO!! This is almost a bad beat post. You got lucky |

Re: 1st foray into Limit MTT (from a NL player) - Early Hand $50+5
It was PSO (Poker School Online) tournament. Yes I know it was play money, but the average tournament or SNG on there is every bit as tight as most comparable cash games I've been in, and the people tend play along the lines of 2+2er's. A little more weak/tight mabye. But there are definitley some TAG's playing there. So take that for what it's worth.

I actually considered that(the possible bad beat post), and it was admittedly marginal, but I did state that I wasn't going to fold no matter what (obviously), but in my defense it just struck me that there were more opportunities in limit to recognize a possible monster under the bed. But it's a different concpept than limit.
I mean in no-limit, I'm pushing w/o a doubt, and agreed the above hand was a no-brainer, but say for instance you're in villains shoes, are you as gung-ho to raise and re-raise? probably, but at some point I would have think that I might have the wrong end of the boat, or worse. and, also there's the point that.. OK!! it was a bad beat story. You got me (but I wasn't planning it to be one) |

i am not laying down trips in a 30-10,000 buy in. too many donks out there. ...
unless obvious flush. if a jackass calls my preflop raise with garbage and hits a straight... they will likely be out within the next 15 mins as well after they piss away your stack |
