Blind steal attempt. SB vs. BB.
BB is tight and overaggressive, but has been folding a lot recently. Could just be card dead. I think my steal attempt may be ill-advised against this sort of player OOP, however, I had a fairly good image going into this hand. Obviously my image sucks now.

Re: Blind steal attempt. SB vs. BB.
I can't think of anything reasonable you beat on the river when he raises. Fold?

I think the only questionable decision is the river call and I'd usually make it.

[/ QUOTE ] I am no good in these situations Are you checking when you pair your 8 because you think villain has a J or 9? Also are you betting the river now since you have over taken previous possible holdings? I porbably would have raised the turn but dont listen to me in heads up situations |

Re: Blind steal attempt. SB vs. BB.
based on the nature of the read and the nature of blind battles, i think it should be a very easy call of the river raise.

Re: Blind steal attempt. SB vs. BB.
Seems fine. I don't agree that preflop is "ill-advised against this sort of player OOP". When you raise here with 78o, you are mainly hoping to take the blinds without a fight. Since he is tight, he is a reasonable target. The guys who are loose, aggressive and tricky are the ones you want to avoid.
