Would this have been a time to consider just checking the flop? On one hand, the flop is unlikely to have helped anyone. On the other hand, checking seems suspicious.
I had no reads on the bb, but the button seemed somewhat loose/passive, though not to a real notable degree. bet bet bet
You can play it fast the whole way, or call if you get raised on the flop then check-raise the turn, but do not check. |

If you would normally throw out a continuation bet after PFR then you should bet here. It is unlikely to have helped anyone, and if it did they will raise your bet anyways. THe only other hands that this flop helped that call raises generally are 66 TJ QT KT and AT. Checking here just looks too suspicious.

There's no right answer, really. I try and mix it up as much as possible, although my personal style leans towards staying aggressive. Sometimes you bet out and they all fold, sometimes you slowplay and get rivered.
Good times. |

My hope was that a bet would actually suggest that I did not have trips. And had the guy called or raised, I could have slowed down a bit, and later gone for a check/raise.
But lately, I'm just making people fold on the flop, hence my original question. |

check it-they are` too stupid to be suspicious. [/ QUOTE ] That might be true. But if they're that stupid, won't they also be stupid enough to call more bets with little hope of improving? The problem, I suppose, is that there are a lot of different kinds of stupid out there. |

Would you have posted this hand if instead of AT you had KQ? Having people fold to your flop bets is a good thing, you don't want them to stop doing that. Sucks that you wanted a call this time, but betting here is almost always the best play.
