This is a pretty standard flush, right?
Any suggestions on this one? I considered attempting to check-raise to try to protect my outs on the flop, but decided not to.

i might check-raise this flop with the guy to your left raising pf - but i think it's fine

I considered attempting to check-raise to try to protect my outs on the flop, but decided not to. [/ QUOTE ] A check-raise will not accomplish this. DO YOU SEE WHY? (Man I feel cool). ... Anyway, a check-raise would be for value, since MP1 is the likely bettor and you could then trap the field on the flop. Going for a check raise on the turn is risky, since it might get checked through. But it could also payoff pretty well too, like it did in this case (though the same might have happened if you had simply bet out) (in fact it might have even been capped). |

DOH! Yes of course, a check-raise to protect would be retarded because the bettor is to my left. I should think more before I post.
Would a guy cap his set or overpair with an obvious flush card falling? |

Re: This is a pretty standard flush, right?
With 8 sb in the pot, and 3 opponents still in, is it more important to increase our winning chances by leading out hoping the preflop raiser will raise?
With a small flush draw I would definitely check raise in this spot, but with the A, I am not sure which is better. |

Looks fine to me. If you're sure MP1 is going to bet, maybe a check-raise, but at this level theres nothing wrong with this.
