Re: Early 99 hand
I probably push... but then again I have trouble only playing 88 and 99 for set value and get nailed sometimes.

Buy-in?
Jesus, it smells so much like high pockets, but you really can't know at an $11... |

Re: Early 99 hand
The bet seems pretty weak. 1/2 the pot. His preflop raise wasn't that big either. I'm thinking overcards. I raise him. If he had big pockets, In general I'd think he'd be a bit more aggressive.

Re: Early 99 hand
I make half pot on the flop too with overpair. No draws at all, no reason to price anyone out.
He bet preflop, he bet on the flop out of position. Just reeks of high pockets. I should say I suck postflop, but it is very likely Villain has high pockets (or is a complete donk). |

Re: Early 99 hand
If I have AA that's a pretty darn safe flop for me. Anyone holding two broadway cards is drawing to running trips and there are no straight or flush draws.
Betting half the pot is good whether I have AA or AK here as to not give away what my hand is. |

Re: Early 99 hand
If I had high pockets, I think I'm putting in a bigger raise pre-flop after 3 limpers. I would not severely criticize any action on the flop here, but I'm thinking that I'm raising to t300 or so. Usually I play mid-pockets early for set value only, but here I might get sucked in. Very hard to get away from here IMO.

Re: Early 99 hand
That bet reeks of "Big overcards that missed continuation bet." I raise it up there.
