Another \"I folded pocket kings on the flop\" hand
Right after I played this hand, I saw the big thread about folding pocket kings on the flop, so I had to post this. I think the fold's okay.
Early hand at a table. No reads on these villains. Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (9 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is MP2 with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, 1 fold, Hero raises, 3 folds, SB calls, 1 fold, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls. Flop: (9 SB) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players) SB bets, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, Hero folds. I'll just stop the hand here so as not to prejudice people's thinking. Thoughts? |

Re: Another \"I folded pocket kings on the flop\" hand
Are u sure hes not betting anything else besides a J or A?
Could bet lower pp, straight draw, etc. With the flop calls all u have to worry about i think is the Ace, unless someone with a J was waiting until the turn to pop it. |

I think you can fold this one with two callers. With one caller it would be a tough decision though.

Re: Another \"I folded pocket kings on the flop\" hand
Sorry my post was aimed at just the villain, with 2 other callers...I can see a fold, heads up though I dont think u can fold the flop. Turn for sure if u think you are beat, but not the flop.
Either way multi-way u have two outs at most if u are beat with no re-draws. |

[/ QUOTE ] At the time, I was thinking most 5/10 players would wait to raise a jack here, especially with the pre-flop raiser acting after them and a big fat ace on the board. The SB might bet something else here, if he's tricky or a chronic bluffer. Which he might have been, as I said I didn't have a read. He didn't seem crazy in the few hands I witnessed. Anyway, if he's straightforward, this bet is almost always an ace. |
