37offsuit presents: You Make the Call
Folded to MP who calls, 2 callers, Button raises, SB folds, all call.
Flop: 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] j [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] MP bets, folded to the Button who raises, folded to MP who calls. Turn: 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] MP bets, Button Raises, MP calls. River: K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] MP checks, Button Raises, MP check raises, Button 3 bets, MP calls. MP announces 2 pair and Button says, "No good, set of 8's" MP shakes his head and throws his cards into the muck. Button tables his hand where he discovers he had 8 - 3, not 8 - 8. The button was a decent player and I noticed he usually barely peeled up his cards and rarely checked them again. He definately thought he had a set. The dealer never saw MP's hand but the player next to him did, and said it was KJ of spades. What happens: You make the call. |

Re: 37offsuit presents: You Make the Call
Is it clear which cards are MP's in the muck pile, or did he really bury them in there?
One time, I was in a hand where the other player tabled her cards, but they landed face down in the muck. She claimed to have a better hand than me (can't exactly remember the circumstances). We called the floor over, who asked the dealer if the hand was purposely mucked (they were not), and then if the dealer knew exactly which cards they were (he did). So the cards were flipped over, only to show that the woman had total crap and had just made a fool of herself and wasted everyone's time. I guess she was trying to get the hand tossed out and her pot investment back. Nice angle shoot. |

Re: 37offsuit presents: You Make the Call
Here's a cross-post from another thread (I'm not the original quoter):
[ QUOTE ] "Cards thrown into the muck may be ruled dead. However, a hand that is clearly identifiable may be retrieved at management’s discretion if doing so is in the best interest of the game. We will make an extra effort to rule a hand retrievable if it was folded as a result of false information given to the player." [/ QUOTE ] |

What happens: You make the call. [/ QUOTE ] Pretty easy, button gets the pot. MP threw their hand away. Thats what you get for trusting poker players. |

Re: 37offsuit presents: You Make the Call
MP is SOOL for a number of reasons;
States his hand first Mucks without seeing button's hand Didn't allow the dealer to view button's hand giving MP the option to muck or showdown Is this a hypothetical or did it really happen and was the floor called over and time wasted resolving the situation? Embarrasing showdown protocol at B&M's teaches you to learn the proper procedures really fast. (first hand knowledge here). Both MP and button were guilty of this. |
