Party 15/30
I've had some debates with my friends on how to play this. Say you have KQs in the small blind, an early-middle position player raises. Two cold callers to you. What do you do? (easy one)
Then you hit top pair on the flop. Assume a fairly non-threatening board. How is the rest of the hand played out? Please give other assumptions. |

Re: Party 15/30
I bet the flop everytime. If everybody folds; fine. If not; everything depends of the action.

[/ QUOTE ] uh, you're 100% making mistakes by betting the flop here 100% of the time... the assumptions can change: where the bet came from, who's behind you, etc. etc. sometimes you checkraise sometimes you bet out...check calling is the one that shouldn't happen. if you have an habitual raiser to your immidiate right then bet. he'll raise and you can 3bet, call-bet, call c-r, or 3bet-bet. you usually lay it down to a turn raise after flop strength unimproved. a buddy of mine from online and 2+2 is currently having trouble w/ top pair top/good kicker on the turn to a raise. its almost always a laydown w/o a read against a typical opponent. the plan for the hand shoud be to get as much money in when prudent to do so and to not pay off other nutty hands/draws. its not easily done with consistent accuracy... -Barron |
