Default Effects of Fossilman\'s win on 2+2, so far:

NONE! In fact, it seems there is less traffic here than before. Things have become so desperate, some posters have had to retype old posts.

Furthermore, the poker explosion has given way to casino whoring explosion. Actually, I think it is great because there is a lot of money to be made there, if done well, and this forum is giving lots of competent advices on it.

Anyway, I don't think people are going to flock here because Raymer won the WSOP. Poker Stars is most likely to benefit because the casual observer is quick to equate the player with how he qualified (like MM did last year).

Next year, maybe Mason should streak behind the final table with 6 "escorts" with a huge "2+2" banner. However, if Mason is truly streaking, he might get sued for false advertising.

Paragraph 2 talks about casino whoring...of which blackjack is an essential part.

I think players, newbies and those that are struggling with their game, will flock here. Until the WSOP is shown on ESPN then the general public and the casual internet player are not aware of Greg's big win.

Goodness I hope not. If it is, then this will be the WORST thing to happen to poker. I don't want fish trying to improve their game.

it was a rhetorical question.

ps. I'm not calling you stupid for answering it as I'm aware that the internet does not allow for things like rhetorical questions and sarcasm and the like to be easily interpretted. It's part of my sub-campaign to have sarcasm be banned on the internet forever, as it is too often misinterpreted as genuine.

I think its just that the 5% who completly miss the sarcasm are the ones who usually resond. The rest just think "yes very good, sigh!" and move on to the next post. Which does not mean it has not had the desired effect.

i have been checking the letterman site for a possible appearance. he is not scheduled this week. letterman was in reruns during the wsop because he was in the pits at the indy 500 watching his car win.

anyway, this week they have the spelling bee kid that fainted, and half the cast from stepford wives, but no greg.

i'm hoping that espn has locked up appearances for him to coordinate with the airings, but his exposure has sucked compared to moneymakers. i wish someone would just ASK greg what his promotion schedule is
(hint hint myrtle)

Ok, ok: So, let's say we know Fossilman will give a plug to 2+2. Sumthin like: "I also must acknowledge all the great support and information I got from the poker internet forums 2+2 publishing and RecGamblingPoker

He posts on both places and asked to get staked on both. With his new status, he has to be a diplomat and not burn any poken-stein bridges.

I say, for each 2+2 plug, RGP will be right there. Most observers will scratch their head until the words PokerStars comes out.
