Default Whats your move?

Just joined 10/20 so no reads at all. Dealt 99 , in late position, I raise and all fold to sb who makes it 3 bets. BB folds i call. Flop comes out 2 3 2. I check he bets and i raise, now he makes it 3 bets and i fold. Did i make the right move here?

As Jeff points out it is not clear what your position is in this hand. However, I'm going to assume that you have position on your opponent.

I can't see giving up at this point. You have a decent overpair and face a single opponent (who appears to be quite aggressive) who could easily have nothing more than two big overcards (or a smaller pair like 88 or 77).

If your opponent bets into you on the turn and river I would call him down. If the board is not too scary (i.e., an Ace doesn't come on the turn or river) and your opponent checks, then I would take the initiative and bet.
