Is this legal? Sounds like something I might be intrested in and I know home games are legal, but something doesn't feel right here.

Why wouldn't his be legal? The house (host) isn't making any money in the game - unless he's kicking our butts on the table. In fact he's invested quite a bit in building a table and buying new chips.

It's a fun, no-rake, card-roomish atmosphere home game.

If you like a real card game without the rake, I'd suggest you get in touch with yo.

Check out the Poker-Pals web site.

That is what bothers me. How is the host paying for the time and effort required to host the game?

Because he wants to play in a regular game that isn't getting the rake taken out. I'd do this in a heartbeat if I had the facilities.

You don't love poker enough to put a little effort into getting a game going?

Fair enough. Have you played in his game, or are you speculating?

Our game is 100% legal.
In fact we have two attorneys that are regular players.

Our pokerpals players are the best source for knowing if this is a good game. We have a 100% return rate. That means every player that has played has either played again or has said they will absolutely play again.
Every event (game) is a FULL game.
We ran our first 2 single table tourneys last Fri.
I announced the tourney on Monday, by Wed. all 22 seats were FULL. That means in less than 2 days players responded to BOTH an email, and telephone verification process.

50% of our almost 50 players list is referal, pokerpals players telling their friends.

Your best bet is to go to the web page and check out one of our games.

We have a game Sat. 6pm..... If you can afford $50 come and check it out, we have "late seat opennings" 9pm, 10pm 11pm.

Yes, I've played in almost all of the events. (The one exception was when I was out of town.)
