Default Flop 2 pair, fold river

Loose, aggressive 10-20.

In BB (Seat8) with A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (First BB I've played that has not been raised.)

4 callers see the flop A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

First to act, I bet. Seat 2 calls, seat 4 raises, seat 6 folds. I re-raise (putting raiser on (A7 – A10) as there was no raise pre-flop). Seat 2 folds and seat 4 calls.

Heads up we see 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] on turn. I bet, seat 4 calls.

River is the 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Counterfeiting my two pair, leaving me with two pair no kicker.

I check, seat 4 bet's, I fold. Seat 4 flashed A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

This time I saved a bet, but should I have called the river? Played the hand differently? I'm working on trusting my initial assessment and not paying to see what I already (think) I know so I'm OK with not paying to see his cards, but I'm not sure if that is always right.

This is my first post... Any advice about this hand or posts in general is greatly appreciated.

if you're going to call the river than bet the river, you won't get raised by a worse hand. If you're going to check fold that's fine cause there's no real draw on the flop, so he's probably got a better ace.
