Default Lions

I am in no way trying to offend anyone. There is no mention of anyone's name, state, or Star Wars Charachter what's so ever......Now to the story.

I was watching Discovery Channel and they were showing lions and how they live. Lions live in packs with 1 or 2 males, as many females as the males can find, and their offspring. The pack is called a pride.

When young males grow into early adulthood they go out on their and and look for a pride to take over. When they find a pride with and aging or sick lion (Viagra isn't available where lions live) they move in and take over the pride. They do give the departing king a going away present by eating any of their offspring therefore saving the need for child support payments.

Once the young male has displayed his dominance the females go into heat within a week. His sole job is to "service" the females, the rest of the day he sleeps or wrestles with his offspring.

The females go out and hunt for him and raise the young'ins. Once the females make a kill they call their man to come eat and lovingly wait till he is full before they start to eat themselves.

So to summarize, Lions have as many wives as they want, are fed by their wives, don't have to put up with kids from earlier marriages, and don't have to pat child support when things don't work out.

So how is it man feels it is the most intelligent creature on the planet?

Well ypu might be right...on the other hand, in my local zoo (Copenhagen) the male lion got killed by the females a couple of month ago - maybe you would prefer paying child support after all?

Gee I should have used Alimony instead of child support because a father that tries to skip on that isn't a joke at all. I hope I didn't offend anyone, didn't mean too.

Please keep in mind that male lions that take over a pride usually are only able to hold onto it for about 2 to 3 years. After that a coalition of younger and stronger nomadic males will usually be able to push the older males out. At that point the former King has a pretty tough time of it. He no longer has females to hunt for him, he is relatively slow and his mane makes him less than inconspicuous when hunting. He is typically reduced to scavenging the kills of others anmd often dies a pitiable death in the jaws of hyenas. Other than that, it's all good.

Yes, I saw a documentary that demostrated the fall the from grace that older male lions experience and it didn't look pretty. I'll settle for my existence any day TT.

Ok I'm missing something. I received a PM from someone that feels I'm attacking them personally/making fun of. This isn't about the child support. I mean this person feels I'm referring to them directly.

To make sure I'm not completely crazed can someone other than the offend post who it is I specifically made fun of? If people can't, that confirms my Goat don't have marbles missing.

Any idea who or why an individual would think I am specifically attacking them?
