($11) candy paint drippin\' in the turnin lane...
Blinds at 25/50
Villain's made some fishy plays; his stack came from limping in lvl 1 with AQ, calling 100 on the flop and 175 on the turn to finally river his straight. He's also limped with T2o and managed to turn a boat. CO (560) Button (1010) Villain (1920) BB (1205) Hero (1245) UTG+1 (865) MP (1195) Hero has T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Hero limps UTG, 4 folds, Villain makes it 200 to go, BB folds. Hero? This probably seems cut and dry, but I've got a fishy opponent popping me, and I've got a decent hand. Is he raising here with worse hands than mine to make this hand playable here? Should I be smooth calling, or pushing into him? If I call, what am I investing those 150 chips for? To fold to an A or K on the flop? Might as well just fold now - or get it in now, while him calling with a bad Ace is still a mistake, right? I'm not sure folding is right, especially with a villain that's shown a propensity to make horrible plays. Also, should I be raising here more often? I'm still in the very earliest stages of learning these games. What's your line? |

Re: ($11) candy paint drippin\' in the turnin lane...
I went to ask some questions, and I found myself answering them. If we limp here, we're begging for a tough decision such as this. If we make it 150, and he repops us, then we can fold and not even think twice about it. This logic is correct, no? Even if its not, I'm glad to have come to it on my own... I can't wait to get on the path toward understanding more and going by "rules" less.
Once I make the horrible gaffe of limping, and he makes it 200, I have no idea where I'm at, and I'm better off folding, yes? |
