I meant to take the boat part out because I didn't want to seem results oriented. I often bet my high middle pairs into a 2-3 players to find out where I am and to protect whatever equity I have, but this once seemed like a stretch.

Doing this with no kicker and no redraws is going to wind up costing you a lot of money.

Fold is good, and from the action on later streets you wouldn't have gotten much out of your eventually boat, neither made much.

But that's the results oriented speil, the important thing is the fold is good.

Middle pair, horrible kicker, horrible position, aces and kings can still kill you even if you are good, no backdoor draws, etc.

Yes you made the right fold. With the flush draw out there, 1 of your outs are counterfeited, leaving you with 4 outs. It is very likely you do not have the best hand at this point and you are not getting the odds to correctly call.
