Default playing raised pots OOP with decent hand

I'm wondering what other people do with a hand like TPTK or an overpair when they are in early position in a raised pot. I frequently find myself in situations where I don't figure out my opponent has me beat until I've already built too big a pot to fold. Here are a couple sample hands (not necessarily hands where I'm beat), but any general advice would be helpful.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 6 handed) converter

Button ($39.95)
SB ($24.50)
BB ($21.99)
Hero ($22.90)
MP ($29.72)
CO ($77.47)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.10.
<font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $1</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, CO calls $1, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>.

Flop: ($2.35) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $2</font>, <font color="#CC3333">CO raises to $6</font>.

Final Pot: $10.35

Button ($25.60)
SB ($76.90)
BB ($24.55)
Hero ($36.40)
MP ($26.10)
CO ($13.35)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.10.
<font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $1</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, Button calls $1, SB (poster) calls $0.90, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>.

Flop: ($3.25) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $3</font>, Button calls $3.

Final Pot: $9.25
Assuming opponent is typical 25NL player, what is your plan for the rest of the hand (and what, if anything, should I have done different earlier)?

Hand #1 - Push, against a typical SSNL player you will get called by TP and FD type hands all day.

Hand #2 - Bet 2/3 pot on the turn and fold to a raise, if just called block the river.

What if instead Villian is a decent player who will not call with any queen or a flush draw?

Hand 1:
Push the flop, get paid by flush draws or AQ/KQ. You arent deep stacked enough or confident enough that you're behind to fold this hand.

Hand 2:
I'd probably lead for half the pot on a blank turn, and lead half-pot on a safe river, check-call a dangerous river.

Hand 1: I like to call and bet/push a non-spade turn. But pushing the flop is also good at this level.

Hand 2, you should bet the turn. About 2/3 the pot.

Same advice applies to a decent player. A decent player should raise this flop with TP or a FD, the difference is a decent player will also raise a set and will fold TP to a reraise where your typical player doesn't. JMO
