Wow!
Today's $200+15 NLHE Tournament at stars (currently running).
859 Entrants $171,800 Prize Pool $42,950 to first place. Can you imagine how much bigger this will be after the WSOP starts airing? Time to start studying NLHE again maybe... |

Re: Wow!
I must admit it is tempting to plunk down the $ and give it a try.
However, I keep asking myself, is it profitable? Especially with such a huge field. And are the satellites worth it? |

Re: Wow!
Am I the only one that thinks this stinks? I mean even if you are the best player you will only win once every 5 years or something. If you run badly, it could be 20 years. And I am not the best player. An average player will make the final table about once every 2 years. With that 20K he could play 30/60 or buy a car. Does anyone have an idea of the number of players where the CV reaches a minimum? Or the number of players where hourly rate is maximized? I have some guesses but it would be neat to run simulations.

Re: Wow!
I watched some of this, mostly the final table. That would be sweet. They ended up chopping the final three-or the final three ended up chopping- Chip leader took 30k, 2nd 25k and third 20k? around that. Man o man.
