Default A good home poker tournament idea.

For Thanksgiving today we had some poker pals come over. We did the standard Thanksgiving stuff... Ate a big meal, watched some football, and so on.

Of course we wanted to play some poker. But since it was a friendly get together we didn't really want to play for money. On the other hand, poker is kind of boring when there's nothing to win. So I decided to go out to the store and buy 20 scratch-off lottery tickets. Then we held four mini tournaments, winner take all, for five of the lottery tickets. The structure was simple... Start with 3000 chips and the blinds started at 25/50 and they doubled each time the button orbited the table twice.

It turned out to be a lot of fun. So if you ever find yourself with a few friends who want to play poker, but not necessarily for large sums of money, you might want to give this a try.
