Default ace flops on my KK, played terribly?

Flop: (10 SB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5 players)

River: (9 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG checks, CO bets, UTG calls.

Final Pot: 11 BB

Too passive or easy check-through? I took one off on the flop b/c of the bdfd, and off chance of a bluff.

5 players call a raise on a 6 handed table? Jeez....

My thinking whenever I get that many callers, someone has an A. Good play

Bet the flop. Stay in charge. If you are raised you have a choice. The guy COULD be seeing how strong you hand is but NORMALLY you are against an ace and you should fold.

OR - if the guy is a tricky player you can reraise him to see how strong HIS hand is. This is seen more 5/10 and up I have found.

BUT - I see your on a 6max table which makes bettign the flop even more wise.

That turn 2 scared you? LOL

I think you are asking to be publically humilated with this hand.

Curious, why not just bet? A checkraise probably puts a weak ace into calldown mode and we're OOP. Seems to me that if we bet, no one is raising this flop that doesn't have us beat. Flush and straight draws that will call a bet will probably just check it through.

Me too.

The question is: what's the plan if the bet comes from your left? Call and donk the turn? Check/fold the turn UI?

Maybe this is too passive, but at this level (esp 6-max), 5 to the flop generally means someone has an ace.

When the flop hit and I was OOP, all I could do was think "sh!t", because I just assumed I was beat; you can't move these players off a weak ace.

At least if we checkraise we're OOP against fewer opponents. If we bet out and get called in 3 or 4 spots, what's the plan now? If that weak ace is out there, he's still out there. Plus, check/raising *might* get us a free river; betting out almost never will.
