Turn/River play just horrible....
After a rough first week in 5/10 6 max (so bad I'm now back @ 3/6 6 max), I was reviewing my stats. When betting/raising/checkraising on the river, I'm winning 71.66% of the time. When just call....I'm winning 26.59% of the time. My river agression is a paltry 1.40, which has long time been a big leak of mine. I find myself calling down with a big ace against even mildly agressive players after a C/R, even though I know they usually AT LEAST have a pair. One thing that changed my game around at 3/6 was a 'keep it simple stupid' philosphy. On the turn, its basically the same. I make a bad call with AQ uninimpoved on the turn and feel trapped with it on the river. Any general help/advice here?

Re: Turn/River play just horrible....
Play full ring 5/10 for a while and then give 6max another shot. The aggression at 5/10 6max was a huge shock to me as well.
You'll know you are ready for 5/10 when: - Folding heads-up with an $80 pot doesn't bother you. - You are not bothered by losing or winning $600 in an hour. - You are never playing with a short bankroll or a short stack at table. You have to lose the awe of the bigger pots. |
