double whiff - weird hand
Villain is 60/15/1.5
I was planning to c/r the flop. When he checked I thought he might have a monster, but my plan was to c/r the turn anyway because he is a goof. What is my river plan? Check/call? Bet/fold? Bet/call? Re: double whiff - weird hand
Depending on the opponent's level of aggression/donkness, I would either bet/3bet the flop if he would raise with any hand there or c/r like you tried if youre fairly certain he'd only bet the flop with no piece.
Since you whiffed on the flop c/r, definately bet this turn. Checking again is bad because you don't want to give a free card. There are a lot of river cards that you don't want to see so you need protection, and you likely have the best hand now so betting would also be for value. The way you played it you have to bet the river. You beat way too many hands to just check and risk it being checked down. |

Re: double whiff - weird hand
Don't try c/ring 2x in a row. Just bet the flop, or bet the turn.

Re: double whiff - weird hand
Don't feel too bad. It's easy to criticize after seeing the result but this could have worked.
Bet-call the river. Checkraising is bad because he probably doesn't bet unless he just hit. |
