Default Book Review: 77 Ways to Get the Edge at Casino Poker

77 Ways to Get the Edge at Casino Poker (7) by Fred Renzy. This is a book of concepts. Some apply to poker in general, and some are targeted for specific games. Most of the concepts are accompanied by a page or two of discussion. For those of you relatively new to poker this book can serve as a good overview of some of the ideas and concepts that are important. The reason I don’t rate the book higher is that the hold ’em advice is somewhat flawed. The author has you playing too many hands in virtually all situations. For instance, automatically calling a raise with ace-queen and always raising when first in from a late position with any ace or king should prove expensive. However, except for these flaws, the rest of the book is pretty good especially if you’re interested in more than one game.
