5/10 boat. Played too fast?
Nothing special about this hand and yeah, it's kinda boring. But I'm just wondering what other line to take with this hand so I can extract more. Villian is a good TAG 5/10 regular, 18/11/4. Did I play it too fast? Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 4 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx Hero ($1481.50) SB ($994) BB ($1350.91) UTG ($3169.39) Preflop: Hero is Button with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $5. UTG raises to $35</font>, Hero calls $35, SB (poster) calls $30, 1 fold</font>. Flop: ($115) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)</font> SB checks, UTG bets $90</font>, Hero raises to $250</font>, SB folds, UTG calls $160. Turn: ($615) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)</font> UTG checks, Hero bets $500</font>, UTG times down for quite awhile and folds. Final Pot: $1115 |

Re: 5/10 boat. Played too fast?
Flop is perfect.
On the turn, he's most likely drawing. Give him a good price to draw (bet about $275) and hope he hits. |

Re: 5/10 boat. Played too fast?
giving him a better price to draw might be a start.
you have position. love the flop raise. on the turn you can either bet small (he can't put you on T2) or if this will be obvious to him just check. given stacks if he has a T you are getting his money. checking lets him hit a draw or convinces him a good J might be ok and he might pay off a small value bet on the river. but betting small against someone less observant is good too. |

Re: 5/10 boat. Played too fast?
Against a good TAG, I like checking behind on the turn. Looks like you representing a Jack and he will most likely bet his overpair on the river or check call your river bet. I think you can extract at least one more bet or call from villain.

Re: 5/10 boat. Played too fast?
i like the flop as well.
i think i slow down on the turn though. if he is on a nice draw, you have priced him off of it. if he is solid he is probably dumping QQ+ here, as any non-filling river is going to give him a headache. if you slow down, and he has a draw and gets there then you likely stack him. if he has a decent draw and rivers top pair A/K on river then you may eek some more value out of him. same goes if he has an overpair and non-heart river, he will think you missed your draw and may be making a play at it. if villain had showed donkey tendancy to stack off with overpair or TPTK then i go ahead and play it this fast. or if i villain is tough my image dictates he may be looking to pick me off for being too active on scary boards. |

Check turn, if checked on river, value bet. If he bets, raise big.
I dont think he is drawing, more likely an overpair. |

Re: 5/10 boat. Played too fast?
im still working on my turn play in these situations.
i think that i go through a streak where betting the turn hard works well, and then i use that as my default. in the end, i think 280-350 or a check is far superior to a big bet. |

[ QUOTE ]
Check turn [/ QUOTE ] Everyone says this but DAMMIT I want VALUE! I want more $$$$ in the pot NOW! I want his entire STACK! I guess 1/2 pot would be about right. Let him hit his [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] or straight. |

Re: 5/10 boat. Played too fast?
Flop play is very nice.. let him catch up on the turn. Either check or bet a modest amount like Fsuplayer said.
