Default Three basic ruling questions

1. I was pretty sure I was right, but I had some opposition last night.
If you miss your big blind and small blind, and come back in when it is your big blind again, you do not surrender your small blind, correct?

2. If you pay your big blind and miss your small blind, do you post SB or surrender SB when you return? (And you must return after the button passes, correct?)

3. What happens if the button is placed incorrectly and action has occurred?

If you return when it is your big blind, you just take the blinds in order. You do not "owe" anything.

Most places I have played, you just post your SB and it it live (I guess "surrender" means post it and it is dead??). And yes, you do not get the Button.

3. What happens if the button is placed incorrectly and action has occurred?

Play on, if action (betting, not folding) has occurred. Try to figure out what's fair relative to the new Button position, blinds, etc, after the hand.

1. if you miss bb and sb, you can either post the amount when you get back or wait until your next BB and you are fine.

2. I honestly dont know because why would you pay the BB and not the sb?

3.Depends on the situation but I see potential for a mis deal.

If there is action in two spots when the mistake is discovered, it shouldn't be a misdeal.

I see it being less of a problem if the button moves an extra seat, as opposed to the button not moving at all. In the latter case, I've had one ruling state that the button moves one seat on the next hand. I've had another ruling state that the button moves 2 seats on the next hand, so that it is back to where it should be. I have no idea which is correct.

Oh, and for what it's worth, this happened last night and CO and button went RPS for position on the deal, and the dealer allowed it.

And you got back in time to worry if you would get the Button?

Button must pass, and usually its a "live" (post) blind though thats not a universal rule

Depends how much action, if 3 people have act'ed then the hand plays and the button moves next hand [it doesnt go past the person it was suppose to be, IE if seat 10 was suppose to be the button it will be next hand] less then 3 a floor may rule misdeal

I am going to address this one becasue I have read responces that the out of position sb is live; the more common rule is that it is dead. Generally you cannot get the button (deined as last action) without having paid the blinds in turn; some (maybe most now) places allow you to "buy the button" which I think is a great rule.
