Default When would you CR the flop?

Anyone care to list a few situations where this play makes sense?

I have a hard time imagining when this is a good move aside from Cr a PF aggressor when you hit an overcard flush draw.

VLAG player on button and you hold a strong player...

Multiway pot where you hold a strong hand and someone is likely to bet.

Pretty much any time you want to get a lot of money in the pot.

Say you are in the SB w/ 66. UTG is a donkey who cant get away from overpairs and plays aggro postflop. UTG raises, three other donkeys call and you call. Flop is T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A check raise would be a good move here IMO because you will probably sandwich a few callers in after the PF raiser makes his Cbet.

If the button had been the preflop raiser in the exact situation but still a multiway pot, it would be correct to lead out IMO...Hope that makes sense

I see. thanks for the info.

What about this crap scenario....

I'm BB with A8s. UTG+1 calls, +3 min raises. all else fold. I call, +1 calls.

Flop A22. I check. +1 checks. +3 bets pot. I? fold call or checkraise?

I would say you would have either wanted to fold preflop, or lead the flop and fold to a raise. What you don't want to do is build a big pot OOP w/ a marginal hand.

I rarely, if ever check raise. I usually lead (pair, 2 pair, set, flush, straight, FH, air, draw, etc).

Maybe I am leaving money on the table or need to adjust my play better, I dont know.

It could be more a function of the players you're playing against. On a site I am playing on ATM, players are sometimes not aggressive enough on their own to raise your weak leads + i don't like getting a PSB called by 3 players at a 6max table. It almost seems like players see the check-raise as a type of aggressive bluff (sometimes), although of course it should be viewed in the extreme opposite (usually).
